The next Coffeehouse Films and Florida Film Networking event will be held on Thursday, October 11 at 7 p.m. at The Buzz, located at 710 Harbour Post Drive on Harbour Island. It is held every second Thursday of the month.
This monthly film festival is dedicated to showcasing local independent short films. It has won two Best of the Bay Awards for its impact on the local independent film scene.
October will celebrate Halloween with a collection of short horror films. Films will include:
Taste Me by Chris Woods: In a throwback to the 70's grindhouse films, a killer targets women on an escort service web site called "Tasty Chicks". Featuring legendary B-movie actor Joel Wynkoop. – 14 minutes
Extraction by Robert Manrique: Plagued by an ailing tooth, a man is forced to take extreme measures in order to end his suffering.- 10 minutes
The Trap by Marcus Kempton: Four people wake up in a strange place with no memory of how they got there and realize they are being hunted. – 15 minutes
Seeing Red by Robert Kreh: A serial rapist stalks his new victim, but finds the tables turned on him in a gruesome way. – 16 minutes
Blow Me 2 by Damage Control: Tampa’s favorite sketch comedy group returns with a special Halloween treat.
