The Gasparilla International Film Festival is calling all filmmakers for its 2010 "Green the Screen" contest.  GIFF is partnering on this contest with Repower America, a non-profit and non-partisan advocacy group, promoting good stewardship of the Earth and Clean Energy.

GIFF is accepting submissions of short videos, no longer than 5 minutes each, from filmmakers, students, advocates, and local celebrities, anyone and everyone who wishes to be heard on stewardship of the Earth and Clean Energy.  The deadline for mailng DVD submissions to GIFF (see address at bottom) is December 31, 2009.

All videos will be posted on Repower America's website and select videos will be posted on GasparillaFilmFestival.com.  Winners of the contest will screen at Opening Night 2010.  All are welcome to participate, there is no fee to submit, and there is no limit on the number of submissions. 
 
GIFF will host a kick-off party on Thursday December 10, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Tampa with free hors d'oevres provided by the Hyatt.
